I illustrated this view of my own studio space as an editorial portfolio piece. The illustration features nail varnish, pots of pens and water bottle - look closely, can you see the rainbow built from duplo or the yellow bulldog clip?
Process
My illustration process starts with sketching pencil roughs, then I draw the linework by hand using my favourite Unipin fineliner. I scan this in and clean it up a little in Photoshop, sometimes adjusting the layout too. I bring the linework into Illustrator where I add colour fills, shading and develop the colour palette. Here I’ve chosen a bold colour palette with tonal shades to add depth and subtle detail in the background.
